The most prominent feature of Kuala Lumpur’s skyline are these 451m tall twin towers. They offer a sky bridge and an observation deck where you can get great views of the country’s capital. The Petronas Twin Towers was completed in June 1996; it is an 88-storey twin structure.
To avoid a queue I would recommend booking your tickets to go up the towers in advance. Buying tickets on the day are on a first-come-first-served basis.
The design of the floor plates of this incredible structure is based on Islamic geometric forms. These represent the important Islamic principles of “unity within unity, harmony, stability and rationality”.
Whilst visiting the towers you will get the opportunity to travel up 170 metres in a high-speed elevator. Your first stop is at the Skybridge which is the world’s highest 2-storey bridge, it connects the two towers. You then ascend even higher to level 86, where you can see breath-taking views of Kuala Lumpur.
The great thing about this tower is that you are able to get great photographs of the capital which include the KL tower. When I was in Kuala Lumpur I went to both towers. From each of them, you can get a view of the other one.
I visited KL tower during the day and the Petronas Twin Towers after dark. Both views were equally as spectacular – a must do on your trip to Kuala Lumpur!
