This morning we departed Christchurch and made our way to Lake Tekapō. We had a lunch stop in Geraldine before arriving at the Lake in the early afternoon.
Lake Tekapō is so beautiful it’s the Instagram shot everyone wants. Icy blue glacier-fed water surrounded by snow-topped mountains. The weather was stunning and it all just looked so picturesque – a definite place to visit if you’re going to New Zealand!
After that, we carried on to Lake Pūkaki where the lake is situated near Mt. Cook giving amazing views. We were extremely lucky to have such good weather with so little clouds that we could see the magnificent Aoraki (Mt. Cook) and being able to get a shot with the reflection in the lake was just amazing.
Our stop tonight is Lake Ohau, we are staying in a lovely little lodge right on the edge of the lake. Again, stunning views, it’s only day 2 and New Zealand is definitely impressing! So beautiful everywhere you turn and so relaxing. Can’t wait to see what is in store for the rest of the trip!
